Established in 1989, the Riverside Community Arts Association (RCAA) is a non-profit organization located in downtown Riverside, California, and intimately involved in art activities in the Inland Empire.
The RCAA defines art as what artists make and intend to be art, and recognizes the beneficial value of local art and artists to a local community. It believes that objects of art can entertain, provoke, make us think, develop aesthetic skills, express hopes, joys, sadness, and vision, as well as to heal.
The RCAA recognizes that its membership is made up of individuals who have a variety of artistic and organizational skills, and who seek involvement with the community at large. Overseeing the RCAA's operations is a board of directors made up entirely of local artists.
The RCAA serves two goals: We are dedicated to promoting, showcasing, and exposing the art of its members to the public on a regular basis, through exhibits and sales, as well as to providing opportunities to network with one another.
We organize community events such as art exhibits, performances, art demonstrations, and collaborative art projects at venues such as libraries, city and county agencies, PTA organizations, arts groups, and area schools. We also stage fund-raising events that enrich local arts organizations in order to promote the positive power of art in the Inland Empire.
Funding for operations comes from association artist fees, exhibit fees, public and private donations, class and workshop fees, along with business and corporate sponsorships. All donations are tax deductible.
